Established in 1964 within the framework of the System of National Oceanographic Data Centers (NODCs), created by the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC), the Spanish Oceanographic Data Center is integrated into different international data networks, being a common objective of all of them, the development of format standards, and control protocols that facilitates the exchange and integration of data so that it has been possible to elaborate of regional and global products.
