Since 1964, IEO has been operating as a National Oceanographic Data Center within the framework of the National Oceanographic Data Centers System (NODCs), supported from the outset by the International Oceanographic Data and Information Exchange (IODE-IOC / UNESCO). Therefore, it is responsible for the reception, quality control, custody and dissemination of data and metadata from its research vessels and monitoring networks. The IEO Data Center is integrated into different international data networks (e.g. SeaDatanet, EMODNET). As part of its responsibilities, the IEO distributes data and information on the marine environment through different platforms.
