The aim of the Grants is twofold – to reduce social and economic disparities in Europe and to strengthen the bilateral relations between the three donor countries and the 15 European countries which receive the funding (listed below).

The 2014-2021 funding period, amounts to €2.8 billion and covers areas ranging from climate change and energy to cultural cooperation and the promotion of human rights. However not all topics are funded in all countries, as funding is prioritised based on what is most relevant in each country.

Funded Countries:
Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia. In addition to this, the Fund for Youth Employment accepts projects with partners from Ireland, Italy and Spain.
